Black belt under Murilo Santana. Widely recognized as one of the top competitors of his generation. At 15 Levi made the decision to leave school and train full time in BJJ, and in the past few years he has won medals in various international titles, including IBJJF World Champion (2018 brown); IBJJF European Open Champion (2018 brown); IBJJF Pans Champion (2018 brown, 2017 purple); IBJJF Pans NoGi Champion (2016/2015 purple) plus more. He hopes to be a black belt world champion by 2018.
Roberto Dib Frias (BOB)
Black belt under Marco Barbosa at B9JJ in Sao Paulo – Brazil, Bob have been training BJJ since 1999 and competing regularly. He moved to Australia in 2016 and achieved many goals, in 2016 he was the No.1 Black Belt in Australia in Gi and No Gi (AFBJJ) and 2017 No.1 in the Gi. He runs his gym in Brisbane One Purpose BJJ and now focus on teaching and competing only on major international competitions aswell as important grappling events in Australia.
Originally from Perth WA, he began training at 14 years old. He began entering local and national tournaments and immediately fell in love with the thrill of competition. Since beginning BJJ he always had dreams of becoming a world champion, but it wasn’t until he traveled to America for the first time in 2012 that he began to appreciate the level of hard work and dedication needed to compete at that level. Later that year Ben moved to Melbourne in an attempt to bring his training up to the next level. He has amassed an impressive collection of medals from every major tournament in Australia, as well as several international titles.
Yago starter training when I was 3 years old with my dad’s master (Luiz Carlos) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the age of 8 he started to train with his dad (Tadeu Espindola) in his school. At the time Gracie Humaita, also in Rio. When he was 19 (purple belt) he moved to San Diego – CA to train and compete (Gracie humaita) where he stayed for almost 5 years (2013 to 2018). he was promoted to black belt in San Diego at the age of 23 by his dad but when he was in Brazil Leticia Ribeiro was the one who actually promoted Yago. So he was Gracie humaita my whole life, around one year after a got his black belt he moved to Atos where he stayed for 7 months before go back to Brazil in 2018.. after a while in Brazil he had the opportunity to came to Sydney to train and teach at GarageJJ.
Brown belt training under Gui Neves, at Garage Jiu Jitsu in Sydney. As a young mother, Hope still manages to compete at the highest level. She regularly travels, trains and competes both nationally and internationally, having won gold titles such as WPJJC Australian National Pro Open Weight, 2 x IBJJF Sydney International Open, Pan Pacific & Victorian State. Hope is also responsible for the highly successful women’s only classes at myBJJ Team, which cater for women from all walks of life. She heads one of the biggest Women’s BJJ Teams in Sydney.
Purple belt under Gui neves out of Garage Jiu Jitsu. He started Jiu jitsu at the age of 15 in Melbourne under Daniel Shaw. At the age of 18 he moved to Sydney to train under Daniel Sainty and Dave Brooksbank, then at the age of 21 he moved to Garage Jiu jitsu to train under Gui Neves, and joined the Braus Team. At the age of 22 he finished his Physiotherapy degree and have now begun to properly dedicate his time to Jiu jitsu.
Blue belt competitor under Roney Da Silva and Lukas Hainge (Gracie gym Rotarua, New Zealand.) Zanetta started training in 2013 and won her first national championship less than a year later. While based in New Zealand, Zanetta regularly travels overseas to find new levels of competition, and hopes to compete at a world level in the near future. She believes one day she will be world champion and help inspire other young girls especially to follow their goals and ambitions
Tom is a blue belt out of Central Coast, NSW. Originally under professor Danilo Coltro. Now, trains , travels and competes. nationally and International. He is looking to represent Australian Jiu Jitsu and BRAUS at the highest level.

Guilherme da Silveira Neves
BJJ Black belt under the master Paulo Sergio Santos and Alcino Seibt. Gui is the founder and coach at Garage Jiu Jitsu, located in Bondi Junction. He has been teaching since 2002. As a student, he learned to love the art, and now as a professor, he is sharing his passion for Jiu Jitsu with his athletes. Gui is an inspiring teacher and many of his students have become national champions and international competitors.
BJJ Black belt 3rd Degree Lineage; Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Carlos Gracie Jnr. > Helio Soneca > Alexandre Santos. Alexandre is founder and head coach at Cia Paulista North Melbourne. His extensive knowledge, experience and respect for BJJ has developed him into a well-respected coach and athlete within the BJJ community. Alexandre aspires to help people achieve their very best selves by teaching them the many benefits of a BJJ lifestyle.
Paulo Henrique Polimeno
Now black belt, Paulo Henrique Polimeno, began his training in 1996 under Elico Figueiredo at Integration JiuJitsu Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2010 he moved to Australia where he enjoyed a few years experiencing different gyms and teams including, Fight Club, Galeb Brothers and South Side before co-founding Flow Martial Arts in 2014 with student and friend Ryann Crearry. Now he spends his days sharing his knowledge with his students and training at any chance he gets.
Minol Tavares Tutida
BJJ Black Belt 3rd Degree from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil under the Red Belt Grand Master Wilson Mattos. He came from the unique Fadda lineage which has no connections with the Gracie’s. Lineage; Mitsuyo Maeda > Luiz Franca > Oswaldo Baptista Fadda > Wilson Pereira Mattos > Minol Tavares Tutida. Minol moved to Japan with his parents and started training BJJ when he was 15 years old. He has also fought MMA in a few events called DEEP 2001 which was the same organization as Pride. Minol is the founder and head coach at Equipe Mestre Wilson Jiu-Jitsu Australia. Minol’s favourite phrase is “Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting” which is written on the wall at his club’s Melbourne HQ.
Black belt 1 degree under master Helder Medeiros (Bob Esponja). He began to train jiu-jitsu in Joao Pessoa -PB Brazil in 1997, since than he has been competing regularly. He created the Academia Portal BJJ in Brazil where he spent two and a half years until he decided to bring this project to Australia which step by step comes to fruition.
The Portal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu affiliated to Halavanca Brazil is in Suffolk Park in Byron Bay and Ballina and step by step with a lot of work dedicating to make a strong family!
Marcel Leteri Sasso de Oliveira
Marcel is a 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt from São Paulo, Brazil and has been training BJJ since 1997, receiving his Black Belt in 2007 from Professor Rick Kowarick of Cia Paulista Jiu Jitsu (Rickson Gracie > Marcelo Behring > Waldomiro Perez Jr)
With over 8 years of experience teaching and running his own gym (Fratelli Leteri) in Italy, he currently teaches in Melbourne, Australia at DMD’S MMA and Martial Spirit in Brunswick.
He is actively involved in the BJJ scene in Australia, both as a competitor, coach and a referee.

Jess Fraser began competing in 2011. Since then she has won 11x State titles, 7x National, 11x Pan Pacific, 7x Australasian Abu Dhabi trials, 3 Naga Belts (advanced division), runner up in the 2011 ADCC trials, won the Abu Dhabi trials 4 times & gone on to medal three times while representing Australia in Abu Dhabi (blue, purple, black). She won silver at the IBJJF World in 2012 and most recently became the first Australian black belt to hit the podium in Abu Dhabi at the World Pro. She is also the first and only Australian to make the Top Ten ranked Black belts in the UAEJJF ranking system.
Even with her impressive competition career Jess still sites her most proud accomplishment to be the creation and leadership of Australian Girls in Gi, the largest support organisation for women in jiu jitsu of its kind in the world. Jess is fiercely proud of the achievements of all Australian athletes as well as deeply involved in the development of the Australian BJJ community. She trains and coaches out of Vanguard BJJ in Richmond, Melbourne.
Black belt under Rodney Ellis at Southern Cross Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Steve started Judo in 1982 and Jiu Jitsu in 2009. He is the co-founder of Gerijitsu, which is an over 35 years training format designed for masters athletes with an emphasis on enjoyment and training jiu jitsu into their later years.
Black belt under Paulo Oliveira “Sorriso” is a half Brazilian half Kiwi living in NZ. He is an accomplished business man which lives the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lifestyle and loves the art! Currently a coach at SORRISO BJJ NEW ZEALAND on his spare time Rafael has not only invested his time in helping coach and develop National Champions and also International competitors but he is also a keen competitor himself and has achieved many National titles and international medals in Australia and Brazil. Rafael’s main goal going forward is to help inspire the younger practitioners to follow the path and enjoy the ride!
Thiago Machado de Castro
Black belt under , Marcus Almeida (Buchecha) , he started training Jiu jitsu in 2000 with his Master João Teco Shinzato in Santos City , Brazil. He moved to Australia in 2011 since that his focus is his lifestyle , as Surf and Jiu Jitsu . He is currently a Head Coach at Checkmat tweed heads Brazilian Jiu Jitsu , were he spend most of his time teaching adult and kids is one of his passions.
Natalia is a brown belt under Matthew Cugola at Martial Art QLD located in Brisbane. Originally from Brazil, Natalia moved to Australia after achieving great results such as the Ibjjf Word titles in 2014, 2x Brazilians nationals,, 1x South American, among others. Last year Natalia was the first purple belt in QLD and Third one in Australia. She is also a full time coach at Martial Arts QLD.
Brown belt out of SKAMMA gym (Peter De Been Jiu Jitsu). He trains under both Bob Watson and David Kemp. He started training in July 2012 and after 3 months of training, he won his first competition as a white belt at a small in-club competition. Since getting his blue belt in 2014, he came second in the Asian Open 2015, won the open weight for Pan Pacs 2015 and most recently, won the Abu Dhabi Trials securing himself a trip to the Abu Dhabi World Pro. Adam is determined to become world champion and aspires to open his own gym one day allowing him to teach and train BJJ full time.
Purple belt training under Dio at Pacheco Jiu Jitsu in Sydney, in 2018 Tami was ranked number one #1 Female purple belt competitor by QJJC. Tami has a bachelor degree And post graduation in law from a university in São Paulo, Brazil, However her passion for Jiu Jitsu made her change her lifestyle completely by moving to Australia in 2017 and pursue her dreams to become a sports coach in especial, Jiu Jitsu to teach and compete in nacional and international competitions.
Born and raised in Singapore and currently living in Sydney, Australia, Winston discovered jiujitsu during his undergraduate studies in Sydney and never looked back. Training out of Garage jiujitsu Bondi Junction under Gui Neves, Winston is a regular in the local competition scene but has his sights on the international stage. Through his achievements in BJJ, Winston aims to one day inspire others to work hard, truly pursue their dreams and attain fulfillment in their lives. “Competition brings out the best in myself and my opponent. Win, lose or draw, the end result is irrelevant when you have prepared the best you can and have truly given it your all.”
Purple belt under Professor Daniel Cherubin at De La Riva Jiu Jitsu Geelong. A highly active competitor with a broad, well rounded skill set in jiujitsu, he has developed a strong mindset from undergoing a lay off due to a large injury. This lay off has given him the fire to fight and compete in everything he possibly can. With a deep appreciation for a fully functioning body, he has the will to fight and learn as much as physically possible and pass on to the next generation of Australian competitors. Kain works full time whilst training and drilling every evening with a strength & conditioning routine in the mornings.
Pete is a purple belt under Professor Luke Beston and Andy Hernandez at A’s Dojo Sydney. Pete is a well rounded JiuJitsu practitioner, with a broad skill set. From his time competing, Pete has now taken on a instructor role following several serious injuries. As a result, his mindset, understanding of flow, movement, and biomechanics (thanks to his under and postgrad studies) have helped him rediscover his JiuJitsu passion.
Pete now helps young avid competitors prepare for competitions, and assists others rediscover their love for JiuJitsu and mixed martial arts through functional rehabilitation through his own rehab business.
Brown belt under Alexandre Santos – ASBJJ North Melbourne. As a regular competitor, she hopes to be a role model for others to take on the challenge and realise the rewards of practising BJJ. She aims pursue international opportunities, and is driven to never stop learning the techniques and principles of Jiu Jitsu.
Blue belt under Diogenes Pacheco from Guigo JJ in São Paulo Brazil – Wesley have been training constantly since 2016 when I moved to Australia, but back in few years ago before I come to Australia, I started training jiu jitsu at Guigo JJ with , but I lived far away from Guigo gym so I had to stop training at guigo and start training in a social project that the church near to my house offered, but I didn’t take it seriously after a while and I decided to stopped. When I came to Australia I returned to constantly training and with that … I was vice champion PAN PACIFIC IBJJF 2016 White belt, NSW state champion by abjjf weight and absolute division white belt 2017. . blue belt: 2x champion of grappling industries 2018, 3st place at SYDNEY OPEN 2018 IBJJF, vice champion Gi and No Gi nsw state 2018
Blue belt under Alexandre Santos – ASBJJ North Melbourne (Cia Paulista Australia). Alex started training in February 2013 at 16 years old at DMDs MMA in Brunswick. He got his blue belt in December of 2014 and since then has taken home a decent amount of medals from national and international competitions.
Currently he trains at both ASBJJ North Melbourne with Alexandre Santos and at DMDs MMA in Brunswick with Marcel Leteri.
Ronaldo Mendes Dos Santos
Blue Belt under Yosh from Caza Bjj. Ronaldo started Jiu Jitsu when he was 32 years old (2017) and gaining a taste for the sport at fight club under Shane Poppetlon at Brisbane. At the beginning of 2018 his family and himself moved to Noosa – Sunshine Coast He had his first comp month after starting jiu jitsu and, since then he could not stop competing. He has competed Internationally, competition like Pan Pac and many local and national comps. At 2017 he was number 2 in the QLD rank as a white belt and 2018 he was number 1 in the QLD Rank, Number 5 in Australia national rank and number 3 at the Pan Pac 2018. He inspires his game in the old style of jiu jitsu especially the movements of the greatest Fernando Terere, and wants to show out there that OLD JIU JITSU still works with the highest level of competitor.

Charisma Taylor is a BJJ Competitor under Bruno Lemos, training out of Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Brisbane, Australia. With an impressive record including 3 x Pan Pacific and 4 x Australian Championships since 2012. Since starting her martial arts journey at the age of 10, Charisma has approached her training with enthusiasm and dedication. She enjoyed competing right from the beginning, winning her first Adult State Championship at the age of 15. Charisma strives for continual improvement and has included Judo to her training regime and is now on the verge of international Judo representation.
With Charisma’s dedication to training and her strong mental fortitude we are sure that she will achieve international success in the near future.
Mitchell is a 15 year old Blue Belt juvenile under his father Matthew Wickham at Wickhams Martial Arts Centre Echuca, VIC. Mitchell started his bjj jouney in 2010 and competed for the first time in 2014 under Thiago Steffanuti at Maromba Acadamia. Mitchell is a rooster weight fighter, which has given him lots of experience competing against heavier, stronger opponents. Mitchell competes regularly around Australia and Internationally winning multiple state titles and medalling at the 2016 Kids Worlds and 2017 IBJJF Worlds. Mitchell’s is very passionate about jiu jitsu and believes one day that he will be a multiple time world champion and UFC fighter traveling the world teaching jiu jitsu and martial arts.
Blue belt under Professor Mario Yokoyama of myBJJ Team, Varun has been training for 8 years and has competed and won tournaments such as the PowerPI Pan Pacifics and the Sydney Cup. Varun juggles his high school studies with his BJJ passion competing at the highest level. He aspires to compete in the World Championships and to be known as the Pound-For-Pound best Jiu Jitsu fighter.
Jacob Cutler is a 14 year old Green belt black stripe who trains under Professor Vicente Cavalcanti at Southside BJJ on the Gold Coast, QLD. Jacob has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since he was 8 years old, and competing since he was 10 years old. Over the years Jacob has won many State and National BJJ Championships.
Jacob’s goal for the future is to compete in as many National and International competitions as he can. His dedication and passion for the art of BJJ is incredible, with his warm and humble personality on and off the mats being an inspiration and role model to the younger kids.

Jesse’s Jiu Jitsu journey started at age 8, now rising 14 his dedication and passion to this art and seen him achieved so much. Some of his achievements include, IFBJJ Kids World Championship bronze medal in Gi & No Gi, 2-time UAEJJF Australian National Pro Championships and San Diego Jiu Jitsu World League Silver Medallist and multiple AFBJJ Australian, Victorian, Tasmanian and NSW State Championships. Jesse’s goal is to become an adult black belt world Champion and continually pushes his training on and off the matts to the next level to achieve this.
Mason is a 13 year old yellow belt, Melbourne based BJJ Athlete, training out of Limitless MMA under Troy Skidmore. He began his journey 3 years ago with Wickhams Martial Arts Centre in Echuca before moving to Melbourne and becoming part of the team at Limitless MMA. Training 4-5 times a week, Mason is highly passionate and dedicated to jiu jitsu and enjoys traveling Australia and competing on a regular basis.
Cruz Mikaere Clarkin
Cruz Mikaere Clarkin, 11 years old, is a student of the Garage Jiu Jitsu family and has been competing under Professor Gui Neves since 2013. Learning the art in one of the most prestigious academies in Australia has seen Cruz steadily rise in passion, skill and discipline. He currently holds a yellow belt and has won multiple State, Pan Pacific and Australian titles with his finest accomplishment to date being crowned 2016 World Champion in both of his Gi and No-Gi divisions. Cruz’s intense commitment to the ‘gentle art’ saw him featured in a campaign for Abu Dhabi Tourism, and when he’s not on the mats, you’ll find him playing Rugby for Waverley College.
Ratu Ekara Cayuque
Yellow belt from Gracie Australia Castle Hill under Professor Marcos Nevel. He started training in Jiu Jitsu at 6 years old and has been competing for the last 8 years. His goals are to train harder, improving his strength & cardio and keep improving his Jiu Jitsu game. Also be a sample for the other kids by having a good attitude, behaviour, self respect, humble.
Torezbjjkid is an 8 year old orange belt who has been training in submission wrestling and Brazilian Jui Jitsu since he was 3 years old. He loves his wrestling and in his last 11 comps he has won 10 straight Golds .He trains an average of 4 times a week at AMMA GYM Perth WA under Coach Adam Metcalf Big things are planned for 2017
